As a charity, fundraising is hugely important to the upkeep and maintenance of our wonderful Edwardian theatre. The Friends of Buxton Opera House are a small group of committed volunteers who have raised over £50,000 for the Opera House through their Saturday coffee mornings at the Opera House (10am and 12 noon most saturdays) and tours of the theatre at 11am on most Saturdays. Please contact the Box Office to confirm dates.
The money they have raised has been used to purchase new seating for the orchestra; refurbishing the Matcham Gallery; a new mixing desk and sound equipment for the technical department; an outdoor marquee for use during the summer months; hanging baskets for the front of the Opera House each year and most recently a defibrillator that will be kept in the Opera House foyer.
