Iranian Jafar Panahi was banned by his government from making films. This is his fourth film since the ban was announced! By definition each film is a subversive act of defiance, scrutinising some aspect of Iranian life and culture. The starting point for 3 Faces is a short bit of mobile phone video that appears to show the death of a young woman. Panahi stars alongside Behnaz Jafari, a popular Iranian actress, as they set out to unravel the truth behind the images on the mobile phone. A playful, affectionate road trip in patriarchal rural Iran.
This film is programmed by Buxton Film and features no trailers.
