Relaxed Screening - A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood rating-pg

Buxton Cinema - Pavilion Arts Centrebutton--dates-and-timesDates & Times

Tom Hanks portrays Mister Rogers in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, a timely story of kindness triumphing over cynicism, based on the true story of a real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and journalist Tom Junod. After a jaded magazine writer (Emmy winner Matthew Rhys) is assigned a profile of Fred Rogers, he overcomes his scepticism, learning about empathy, kindness, and decency from America's most beloved neighbor.

We’re delighted to offer relaxed screenings at Buxton Cinema.

To make the experience more comfortable the house lights will be left up a little and volume will be lowered.

We will set up a chill-out area in the foyer. This area will be screened off slightly to separate it from the rest of the foyer and this will be accessed through a different door from the auditorium.  Thanks to the Friends of Buxton Opera House we have purchased a sensory tent and light which will be set up in the chill-out area along with beanbags, foam mat, table, books and colouring sheets.

To help you prepare for your visit we have produced a visual story that you can download from the website.
