After a few years of welcome relief, the four exponents of woodwind lowlife who make up A Good Reed? return to convince us of the delights of the bassoon, and its lugubrious partner in crime, the contrabassoon.
Expect a varied programme of artistry, musicianship, humour and pathos. Live in hope. Their programme includes some irreverent arrangements, and more substantial original works – an atmospheric Ode to the Americas by Marzan Mozetich and an exciting set of variations on a Shostakovich theme by one of Britain's leading bassoonists, Graham Sheen.
