Due to the current COVID-19 situation, it is with great sadness we announce that Buxton Opera House will not be able to present its much loved family pantomime this year, and Aladdin will therefore be postponed until Christmas 2021.
There is as yet no Government directive as to when Buxton Opera House and other similar venues can safely reopen. The annual pantomime is a large investment and is only cost effective if we perform to our usual enthusiastic and large audiences. We are working on measures that will ensure a safe welcome back for our much valued customers and will open the Opera House as soon as we can.
Meanwhile, current ticket holders for Aladdin will be contacted in due course to transfer their tickets to an equivalent performance in 2021. We politely ask bookers to refrain from contacting us by phone, but wait to be contacted by our Box Office team.
We are looking forward to a truly spectacular 2021 Christmas production when Aladdin will take you on his magical carpet ride to amazing adventures. The latest information on all future productions will be found on our website.
Please consider supporting Buxton Opera House through these very challenging times. Your donations and support are vital and will help to secure the future of the Opera House.
Life in far-off Peking is tough for Aladdin and his poor old mum Widow Twankey. They're always just a prawn cracker away from poverty until Aladdin finds an ancient lamp with magic powers. What follows is a rip-roaring adventure that takes our hero from rags to riches and back again, on a rollercoaster ride of fun and laughter.
With glittering stage sets, colourful dance routines and unforgettable comedy moments, Aladdin at Buxton Opera House is the ultimate Christmas panto treat.
