Buxton Film screened the superb black and white exploration of tribal Amazonia Embrace of the Serpent in 2016. Director Ciro Guerra returns with Cristina Gallego and a new story that starts in 1960s northern Columbia, home to the Wayúu people and their rich and colourful culture. Some American hippies find their way there and a drug trade is established. Over the next 20 years there are riches to be won but much is lost.
