Friday lunchtime recitals by students from Manchester's internationally renowned Royal Northern College of Music.

Christopher Karwacinski  violin
Chris Godhard   guitar

Duo Aerius recently formed at the Royal Northern College of Music, where they both are currently studying a Masters degree. They initially met when violinist, Christopher, was looking for a guitarist to teach him to play the mandolin for an upcoming project at the RNCM. Guitarist, Chris, offered to teach him and, having got on very well, the two both expressed their interest in forming a duo. Throughout their studies the duo has received coaching from Donald Grant, Craig Ogden and Ben Holland.

Duo Aerius recently gave their first performance at Forsyths Music Shop in Manchester where they premiered Chris Godhard’s arrangement of The Lark Ascending, which was well received by the audience in attendance. Other pieces the duo plan to arrange include Ashokan Farewell and Carlos Gardel’s, Por Una Cabenza, well known for its appearance in Scent Of A Woman arranged by John Williams.

The duo is now expanding their repertoire with new arrangements for violin and guitar and are excited to see where the next few years will take them.

Duo Aerius appear by kind permission of the RNCM.
