Eleanor Kornas Piano
Martha Cullen is a saxophonist and multi-woodwind player who graduated in 2021 with a First Class Honours Degree from the Royal Northern College of Music where she studied saxophone with Rob Buckland and Carl Raven, flute with Janet Richardson and Laura Jellicoe and clarinet with Christopher Swann. In 2021, Martha was awarded 1st prize in the Clarinet and Saxophone Society of Great Britain’s Soloist Competition and was awarded ‘Highly Commended’ in the final of the RNCM Gold Medal Competition, the college’s most prestigious performance award.
After studying at Chetham's School of Music for nine years, Eleanor read Music at the University of Cambridge, becoming a Senior Scholar and winning the Donald Wort Prize for academia. While at university, Eleanor also accompanied Trinity College Chapel Choir for their evensongs, tours and for three recordings of music by Leighton, Ešenvalds and Howells, all nominated for Gramophone awards. Eleanor is now the Head of Keyboard Studies at Queen Margaret's School, York, alongside continuing to perform as a soloist, chamber musician and duo partner.
