The Talland Quartet are a versatile ensemble who are passionate about sharing their love of chamber music. They are based in Manchester and formed during their studies at the Royal Northern College of Music.

The Quartet have recently been selected to be part of the 23/24 Hans Keller forum in Cambridge where they will receive teaching from Alasdair Beatson, Richard Ireland and John Myerscough.

They have been awarded the Hirsch and Brodsky Prizes at the RNCM and enjoy collaborating with other musicians to devise exciting new projects. They were selected to perform in the RNCM's Original Voices Festival in March as part of a "paint what you hear" workshop with artist and cellist Lili Holland-Fricke. They have also worked with composer Eden Longson to commission a new work which they premiered at the Enys Chamber Music Festival in August.

As part of this year’s Manchester International Festival, they performed in the pre-show set at Depot Mayfield supporting Anna Meredith and receiving coaching from Anna on her piece Tuggemo.

In August 2023 they were invited to the Delft Chamber Music Atelier where they studied with Donald Grant, Pavel Fischer and Raaf Hekkema. The Quartet have also been fortunate to study with Petr Prause, Mats Zeterqvist, Sara Bitlloch and Henk Guittart.

The Talland String Quartet appears by kind permission of the RNCM.
