One of the critical successes of the year, Kelly Reichardt’s latest film is set in an Oregon fur-trapping community around 1820. The central story is that of two friends who set up as bakers and need fresh milk to enhance their produce. Reichardt says of her approach to filmmaking: “It’s that idea in the American outlook: ‘We’re all in this together’ versus ‘each man for himself’. Those are constant themes for me.”
This film is programmed by Buxton Film and features no trailers.
