Set in 1960's France, this taut but sober thriller tells the story of the ambitious and gifted young student Anne. At the time, abortion was illegal in France so when Anne found herself to be pregnant, her world began to collapse. Determined not to jeopardise her education and disappoint her working-class parents, she sets out to take control of her life. A stunning and convincing performance by Anamaria Vartolomei as Anne and winner of the top prize at the Venice Film Festival, you won't want to miss this superb film.
