An evening of opera and operetta starring soprano Soraya Mafi and baritone Alex Otterburn, both members of English National Opera’s Harewood Artists scheme.  

They are accompanied on the piano by Festival Artistic Director, Adrian Kelly.  

Soraya, a graduate of the Royal College of Music and winner of the Susan Chilcott Award, is welcomed back to Buxton following her successful Festival debut in 2019. Her engagements include Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro for Seattle Opera and Anne Trulove in The Rake’s Progress for Glyndebourne on Tour. Alex was described as “ruling the stage” by Opera Magazine in his debut in the ENO’s production of Orpheus in the Underworld. A graduate from the Royal Academy of Music, he is regarded as an exciting artist of the new generation.
