An evening of varied classical music.
We open with Bernstein's Candide overture - written in the vein of Offenbach's operetta and full of wit and sophistication. Our soloist plays Chausson's lyrical Poème for violin and orchestra, and we conclude with Dvořák's deservedly popular Ninth Symphony (from the New World).
