Programme to include Haydn's Piano Trio in C and Brahms' Piano Trio in B major No 1 Op 8.
The Larisa Trio was formed in 2016 in Manchester with all members currently studying at the Royal Northern College of Music. Since then, various successes have included performing as part of the Monday Recital Series at the RNCM, as well as winning the RNCM Weil Prize. They receive regular coaching from Trio Gaspard and Jeremy Young, as well as Petr Prause, Donald Grant and Levon Chilingirian. Recently they were selected along with one other RNCM chamber ensemble to play to tutors from the European Chamber Music Academy. The Larisa Trio continually searches for new inspiration, regularly working with composers across the country. They have recently been invited to premiere six new works for the Norfolk Composers Group, including a new trio by Michael Finnissy, which has been dedicated to the ensemble.
As well as giving classical concerts nationwide, contemporary collaboration across the arts is an integral part of the trio's ethos. Upcoming events include working with Excessive Human Collective, a contemporary dance group, culminating in various performances across the North West. The trio is supported by the RNCM Entrepreneurship Award which has funded this project.
The Larisa Trio appears by kind permission of the RNCM.
