Buxton Cinema - Pavilion Arts Centrebutton--dates-and-timesDates & Times

In 1960 a young Canadian poet visited the Greek island of Hydra and fell hopelessly in love with Marianne Ihlen. Hydra at that time was a haven for the bohemian counterculture that had emerged in Europe and the US. Although this isn’t a new story, Nick Broomfield had a personal interest here – he too had known and loved Marianne. This is a documentary about Marianne but more about Leonard Cohen and those heady days in the 60s It is also a story about a love that endured. Bring your hankies….
