Born in Seoul, Michael Choi made a start to his musical journey at the age of eight on the clarinet only as a hobby, until he decided to study further at the age of fifteen. During Michael’s studies with Mark Walton in Sydney, Australia, he won various competitions including Sydney Eisteddfod, Australasian Clarinet Conference Competition, and was chosen as a finalist for the prestigious New South Wales Secondary School Concerto Competition. He is currently studying at the Royal Northern College of Music under the tutelage of Lyndsey Marsh, Antonio Salguero and Matthew Hunt.
Wyn Chan, born in Barrow-in-Furness, studied with Marie-Louise Taylor at Chetham’s School of Music. He graduated with first class honours, studying on the BMus 3-year intensive pathway with Graham Scott at the Royal Northern College of Music, and is currently studying Masters with Helen Krizos, generously supported by the Helen Rachael Mackaness Charitable Trust and Help Musicians UK. Wyn has appeared as concerto soloist with the Chetham’s and RNCM Symphony Orchestras and Manchester Camerata.
