Another enjoyable film from Spain – this time with the delicious pairing of Penelope Cruz and Antonio Banderas. Cruz is the eccentric film director Lola starting rehearsals for an adaptation of a novel about the rivalry between two brothers. She pits acclaimed but stiflingly snobbish ‘Actor’ Ivan against handsome but superficial screen icon Felix (Banderas), believing that the inevitable tension between the two can only help the film’s dynamic. She couldn’t be more right, as the three gather for a nine-day rehearsal that sees each pushed to their wits’ end and underpins Lola's belief that art is suffering.

This film is programmed by Buxton Film and features no trailers.
