Strong views on our island history
A celebrated historian of Tudor portraiture and of the garden, Roy Strong’s latest work takes in the whole sweep of British history from the Celtic tribes to Margaret Thatcher. Formerly director of both the National Portrait Gallery and the V&A, Sir Roy has also designed gardens for Gianni Versace and Elton John. He is also High Bailiff and Searcher of the Sanctuary of Westminster Abbey. His immense scholarship coupled with powerfully held convictions make a compelling contribution to the great question facing Britain; how do we understand our past?
