The Lion King - Autism Friendly rating-pg

Buxton Cinema - Pavilion Arts Centrebutton--dates-and-timesDates & Times

Disney's 'The Lion King' journeys to the African savannah where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub's arrival. Scar, Mufasa's brother, and former heir to the throne, has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is rife with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba's exile. With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his.

We’re delighted to offer Autism Friendly screenings at Buxton Cinema.

To make the experience more comfortable the house lights will be left up a little and volume will be lowered.

We will set up a chill-out area in the foyer. This area will be screened off slightly to separate it from the rest of the foyer and this will be accessed through a different door from the auditorium.  Thanks to the Friends of Buxton Opera House we have purchased a sensory tent and light which will be set up in the chill-out area along with beanbags, foam mat, table, books and colouring sheets.

To help you prepare for your visit we have produced a visual story that you can download from the website.

Please call our Box Office on 01298 72190 to book your tickets.
