The National Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company is the G&S Festival's resident professional company.

It returns to Buxton with three brand-new productions of all-time favourites, The Mikado, The Yeomen of the Guard, The Pirates of Penzance and the acclaimed, The Best of Gilbert & Sullivan Concert.

The Mikado is one of the best-loved and famous of all the Gilbert & Sullivan operas, and this brand-new production is directed by Sarah Helsby Hughes and stars Simon Butteriss.

Nanki-Poo, the son of the Emperor of Japan, has fled to the town of Titipu to escape a forced marriage with the ugly, elderly Katisha.  He falls in love with Yum-Yum, who is engaged to Ko-Ko, the Lord High Executioner.  To complicate matters, Katisha arrives demanding her lover.

Enjoy a hilarious performance brimming with Gilbert's ingenious wit and brought to you by a fabulous first-class cast.
