Directed by and starring Richard Gauntlett, this will be a magical evening and a rare opportunity to see a delightful opera that seldom gets a professional outing.
After the resounding success of their one act opera Trial by Jury in 1875, Gilbert & Sullivan and their producer Richard D’Oyly Carte, decided to produce a full-length work, The Sorcerer. Gilbert expanded on one of his earlier writings based on a favourite operatic theme to create a plot about a magic love potion that would result in everyone falling in love with the wrong partner.
Love potions. A sorcerer. Magic. What could possibly go wrong? Don’t miss a spellbinding show!
