Volunteering with the Learning and Participation Department
Volunteering in the Learning and Participation department guarantees an experience with plenty of variety - no experience required just a passion for working with young people and lots of energy and enthusiasm. You could be helping out with our Young Company on one of their productions, assisting the L&P Officer with one of our many exciting events that we run during school holidays or based in our office where you can assist the L&P department with a number of different tasks including workshop planning, marketing and social media. We want to ensure our volunteers feel valued and well looked after, so whether you’re after a new challenge, experience for your CV or to meet new people – we will help you make that happen and provide the necessary training along the way.
Volunteers will need to be 18 and over and able to provide their own transport to and from the Buxton Opera House and must be willing to undergo a CRB check (free for volunteers who regularly work with our young people).
Volunteers can apply at any time of the year by downloading the application form at the bottom of the page and sending this to [email protected]
We look forward to hearing from you!
Kaleidoscope Community Choir
If you love to sing then come and join our friendly Kaleidoscope Community Choir delivered in partnership with Buxton Festival. There’s no audition to join the choir, you can just come along and join us for an hour of singing at Buxton Methodist Church.
"It’ll be as varied as an African lullaby or a Caribbean round one minute, and a 60s pop song, some gospel or something classical the next!" Carol Bowns, Choir Leader
From choral classics and favourite hymns to pop and folk, the choir takes place each Tuesday at 1pm.
The choir hold a number of public performances each year including Buxton Festival Fringe, a Christmas concert and other community events.
Pre and post-show tours
Our free pre and post-show talks and discussions will help you get the most out of your ticket and take a closer look at how some of your favourite shows come together. The perfect end, or beginning, of a night to remember.
