Young Company is our flagship training programme for young theatre makers aged between 5 and 16 years. Since 2014, our Young Company has successfully mounted six productions, collaborated on projects with the National Theatre and English Touring Opera and has taken productions to other theatres including Derby Theatre and The Lowry.
Young Company is a creative hub for young people where they can experiment, develop and fine tune their creative skills in both performance and production, in a safe and supportive environment with the full support of our professional team.
The Young Company vision: to encourage, nurture and inspire any young person with a passion for the arts. Whether they want to make new friends through team building exercises, develop their confidence by taking on new challenges, have fun through various degrees of creative channels or are looking to learn or develop various skills in the arts – we hope that with a new and exciting approach - that’s what the young people will come to find at Young Company – carried out in a safe, relaxed and friendly environment.
In order to give the young people we work with the best opportunities and training, we have now created two age groups of Young Company: one group for 5 - 11 years and one group for 12 - 16 years.
Back after popular demand, we are happy to announce that Young Company re-launched on Saturday 14th April. If you have a young person that is interested in joining us for the new term in September 2018 then please get in touch firstname.lastname@example.org
For the new term starting on Wednesday 5th of September our Young Company (12 - 16) will be working on a script that explores Halloween themes and ideas, ready to perform this to family and friends at the Sharing Event mid-October. They will be directed by our Learning and Participation Officer but we will also be encouraging our Young Company members to have a go at directing short parts of the play! After the October Half Term, this group will then be creating their own comical pantomime based on this year's panto - Dick Whittington. Lots of variety and fun to be had, we can't wait to get started!
The new term for Young Company begins on Wednesday 5th of September 2018 at the PAC:
(5 - 11) 16:00 - 17:15
(12 - 16) 17:30 - 18:45
