Young Company is our flagship training programme for young theatre makers aged between 5 and 16 years. Since 2014, our Young Company has successfully mounted six productions, collaborated on projects with the National Theatre and English Touring Opera and has taken productions to other theatres including Derby Theatre and The Lowry.
Young Company is a creative hub for young people where they can experiment, develop and fine tune their creative skills in both performance and production, in a safe and supportive environment with the full support of our professional team.
In order to give the young people we work with the best opportunities and training, we have now created two age groups of Young Company: one group for 5 - 11 years and one group for 12 - 16 years.
Back after popular demand, we are happy to announce that Young Company re-launched on Saturday 14th April. If you have a young person that is interested in joining us for the new term in September 2018 then please get in touch email@example.com
This term our Young Company (5 - 11) will be creating their own pieces of Devised Theatre based on the stimulus of Northern Ballet's Ugly Duckling, which comes to the Buxton Opera House late May. They will explore the themes and ideas around the story of The Ugly Duckling through using a variety of different techniques such as Physical Theatre, Improvisation, Contemporary Dance and Pilates inspired warm ups and relaxation methods. We are incredibly excited to see what our young people produce at the end of the term.
The new term for Young Company begins on Wednesday 5th of September 2018 at the PAC:
(5 - 11) 16:00 - 17:15
(12 - 16) 17:30 - 18:45
Application forms and bursary information will be sent out at the end of June. If your child is interested in joining Young Company in September then please get in touch with firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible.
