We are temporarily closed due to the CoronaVirus pandemic. We are still waiting for government guidelines as to when and how we can safely reopen the Opera House for our audiences, staff and visiting artists. Meanwhile, we are looking forward to when we can welcome back our valued customers to the much loved Opera House and Buxton Cinema.
In common with other UK theatres, we are not able to operate with the current social distancing measures and other restrictions in place. We are in daily discussions with the promoters who provide Buxton Opera House with its programme of events and we hope to reschedule most of the affected shows as soon as we have a confirmed reopening date.
Many events have already been cancelled or postponed. All customers due a refund will be contacted in due course and tickets will be refunded by the same method that you paid for your original tickets. If your card has expired or you paid in cash we will send you a cheque. Please, don’t call the Box Office about your refund. Like other venues we are currently operating on reduced staff, so we ask for your patience as we deal with refunds and enquiries during this difficult time. A list of affected performances is available here.
We are missing our wonderful audiences and are extremely grateful for your understanding and support. We are also very thankful for the grant support of High Peak Borough Council, Arts Council England and for the many private donations from our friends and well-wishers.
How you can help:
- Donate the value of your ticket if your performance has been cancelled
- Buy a Gift Voucher
- Donate via our website page
- Buy tickets for future performances when they go on sale.
We appreciate that this is a very difficult time for everyone, but if you can support us in any way it will help Buxton Opera House survive the present crisis. We will then return stronger than ever and ready to keep our audiences entertained for many years to come.
Meanwhile please keep checking our website and social media channels for the latest updates.
