Friends of Buxton Opera House Donate a Defibrillator

26 July 2017

Every time you visit Buxton Opera House to see a show, the welcome and experience you receive will in some measure have been enhanced by the donations made by a group called The Friends of Buxton Opera House.  They are volunteers dedicated to raising funds in order to keep our theatre one of national importance.

The friends have been supporting the Opera House since 1987 and have donated over 50,000 pounds for much needed items including Box Office computing equipment, sound equipment, orchestra chairs, cleaning equipment, hanging flower baskets and even a marquee for the external bar. Most recently they have brought a defibrillator that will be kept in the Opera House foyer.

As a charity, fundraising is hugely important to the upkeep and maintenance of the wonderful Edwardian theatre and you can support them through the coffee mornings at the Opera House (10am and 12noon most Saturdays). Tours of the theatre take place as part of the morning and refreshments include delicious home-baked cakes with tea or coffee.

For more information about becoming a friend or the coffee mornings contact the Box Office, Tel: 01298 72190.
