If you’ve always wanted to take a peek behind the scenes and hear the whispers from the wings at Buxton Opera House, here’s your chance.

You can now catch up on all the going’s on behind the scenes with Buxton Opera House’s brand-new podcast The Cast from Buxton Opera House. You will be able to find out more about our beautiful Matcham theatre with exclusive interviews, masterclasses, history and more with directors, performers, artists and creatives sharing their experiences and knowledge of the theatre in the hills.

Our first two ‘casts will feature our very own Chief Executive Paul Kerryson who, along with heading up the Opera House, is also a renowned director who has worked with some of the very best performers and crew in the industry. Listeners will get a chance to get to know Paul as we explore how he got into theatre, what shows he loves, and of course the latest news from the stage as Paul directs our first co-production with Buxton International Festival of A Little Night Music.

You will have the unique chance to learn about Buxton Opera House’s own productions, our Learning and Engagement programme and hear from visiting shows. Future episodes will include an interview with the set designers of A Little Night Music. Other episodes include local tales straight from our Moving Stories collectors who have been listening to and gathering stories of local people from all walks of life, seeking out stories that might otherwise go unheard.

The Cast from Buxton Opera House will be broadcast monthly, and the first two episodes will be available to download on Tuesday 22 June. Make sure you subscribe or follow on Apple Podcasts:
