This year’s panto cast is announced.

Posted: 5 August 2019

It may seem too early to be thinking about Christmas already but the full cast for this year’s pantomime, Cinderella has been released.

This year Buxton Opera House alongside with CTP Pantomimes will be bringing the beloved rags to riches tale to the stage, performed by a talented cast.

James Holmes fans will be pleased to learn that he will be returning once more to Buxton to take on the role of one of the ugly sisters Ivana. This is his fifth year in Buxton and brings to the stage his hilarious comedy timing. James is best known for his role as Clive the Bar Owner in BBC Miranda. James has also recently appeared in the side-splitting dark comedy EastEndless at the Camden Fringe. EastEndless will also be coming to Buxton in August.

Shannon Flynn will be appearing in the role of Cinderella. Shannon is known for her appearances in CBBC’s Dani’s Castle and as a presenter for Shout Out Saturday. Adults will be familiar with her from Waterloo Road (as Emily James), and she has also starred in Coronation Street as Lauren.

Taking the role of the second ugly sister Melania is Jamie Barwood. Jamie has a range of skills from singing to dancing, even gymnastics. Jamie has appeared on stage in The Full Monty and is no stranger to panto as he appeared as the Dame in The King’s Head Theatre in London.

Back for a third Christmas is Alasdair Baker. Alasdair is fresh from his West End run in the Night of the Iguana where he starred alongside Clive Owen. Alasdair will star as the hapless but hilarious Baron Hardup, Cinderella’s father.

The perfect Prince will be played by Ryan Bennett. Ryan has appeared in an international tour of Jersey Boys and also has appeared in two Shakespearean roles for the Pop-up Globe.

Emily Juler is cast as the magical Fairy Godmother. Warm and lovable Emily has extensive stage experience including Jerry Springer the Opera, The Pirates of Penzance and Romeo and Juliet. She has also been known to perform a spot of stand-up comedy.

Other cast members include Ross Barbour as Buttons, Connor Hignell as the Prince’s assistant Dandini, and Hannah Shackell as Becky and Miss Trotwell.

Cinderella is here on Thursday 12 December – Wednesday 1 January 2020. Tickets are priced at £20.50 - £24. Discounts are available. To buy tickets contact Buxton Opera House Box Office, Tel: 01298 72190 or visit: www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk
