We feel very lucky to have such a wonderful theatre, but running costs are high and we face the constant challenge of operating a Grade II listed building with all its beautiful, but difficult, quirks. In 2012/13 cost well over £1 million just to keep our doors open.
There are many ways you can help keep this beautiful and vibrant theatre alive:
- Add a donation at the checkout
- Make a regular or one-off donation
- Name a Seat
- Leave a legacy in your will
- Join our Giant Cash Bonanza Lottery
There are different ways to make a donation, you can donate at the checkout when you buy tickets for an event, set up a regular donation or just pop some change in the donation box in the foyer. We have over 500 supporters who make a regular donation, which totals nearly £40,000 a year. The average is just £5 per donor, per month - a lot of small gifts really do make a big difference.
HMRC operates a scheme called Gift Aid that allows charities to claim another 25p for every pound you donate, without costing you another penny. For more information, click here. Please Gift Aid your donation if you can.
Name a Seat
Remember a happy evening at Buxton Opera House & Pavilion Arts Centre, make a heartfelt dedication to a loved one, show where you most like to sit or simply support our wonderful theatre by naming a seat.
The cost for naming a seat in the Dress Circle of Buxton Opera House is £150 per annum or £1000 in perpetuity.
Your gift will be acknowledged with a certificate and a brass plaque fixed to the back of the seat, inscribed with the wording of your choice. For more information click here.
