Calling all young ballet dancers!

English Youth Ballet are looking for young ballet dancers aged 8-18 to audition for their upcoming performance of Coppélia at Buxton Opera House next March!

The selected dancers will train with international professional dancers, performing alongside them in three performances next March.

The auditions are taking place at Buxton Community School on Sat 5 Dec. Each audition will be an enjoyable, freework ballet class. Dancers participate in the whole class, and results are given at the end. There is an audition fee of £25.

Audition times:

3pm - 4.30pm (ages 8-11)
5pm - 6.30pm (ages 12-18)

Dancers who accept places in the production will take part in an 11-day performance course and 3-day rehearsal/performance experience at Buxton Opera House. Dancers are coached by English Youth Ballet's professional dancers and teachers.

The rehearsals will take place Wed 17 - Sun 21 Feb, Fri 26 - Sun 28 Feb, and Fri 12 - Sun 14 Mar. Weekday rehearsals take place after school, and Saturday rehearsals start at 2pm to avoid a clash with normal dance classes. There is a performance course fee of £620 - payable in instalments, and scholarships are available. The dancers will experience around 90 hours of training, rehearsing, and performing.
