Take your place centre stage!
Since 2018, Buxton Opera House has given local performers the chance to get on stage or work behind the scenes. They take part in our community productions and gain real theatre experience.
People of all ages and backgrounds have joined in. They’ve worked with professional creative and technical teams. This helps them build skills, grow confidence, and make new connections.
Past shows on our Opera House stage include West Side Story, Oliver!, Little Shop of Horrors, Evita, and Jesus Christ Superstar. We also launch original productions at the Pavilion Arts Centre, like Keeper of the Books and One Night in Buxton.
Coming soon...
From the producers of One Night in Buxton comes a brand-new play, based on stories from local scriptwriters. We are currently hosting some exciting workshops with Charles Way (writer of The Vanishing Elephant). Stay tuned for more information!
Following the success of Jesus Christ Superstar, we also have the return of our much-loved community musical this Spring. Title to be announced soon!
