Best Theatre/Arts Venue in Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire

Buxton Opera House has been voted the Best Theatre/Arts Venue in Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire in the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2022.

This year, an astonishing 75,000 businesses were nominated and 765,000 votes cast across the 28 Muddy counties, in partnership with national sponsor Healthily and local partner The Trusted Mortgage Company. 

Buxton Opera House won in the Best Theatre/Arts Venue category, following six weeks of voting by local readers, and is now through to the National Muddy Stilettos Awards 2022. These will be judged by experienced Muddy Editors throughout the summer, and five successful finalists per category will be shortlisted to go into the National Finals announced in September, with the ‘Best of the Best’ Winners crowned in October.

Muddy Stilettos was founded in 2011 by journalist Hero Brown, and it quickly caught on locally to become the ultimate 'urban guide to the countryside' - a witty and useful insider’s guide to the very best food, walks, boutiques, day trips, hotels, interiors and events for women living outside London. In November 2012 the site turned into a business, and seven years on, Muddy Stilettos can now be found in counties across the UK.
