Buxton Opera House Volunteers Strike Gold at 2026 Tourism Awards

We are delighted to share the news that our fantastic front of house volunteer team were the recipients of the Gold Award for ‘Team of the Year’ at the 2026 Visit Peak District, Derbyshire and Derby Tourism Awards.

Our extensive team of over 130 local volunteers, who form the core of our charity’s customer service activity and are vital to our ability to operate, were recognised for their unwavering dedication and invaluable contribution to the visitor experience. 

The winners of the awards were revealed at a glittering joint ceremony with Nottinghamshire Tourism Awards in March 2026 celebrating the best of the East Midlands. The event showcased the region’s outstanding tourism businesses, which together drive a thriving £3.58bn visitor economy.
