Access Registration
We’re always looking for ways to make visiting our venues as easy and enjoyable as possible for everyone.
We have Introduced a new access registration scheme in partnership with Nimbus Disability, making it simpler for customers with access requirements to make use essential companion tickets and access discounts.
Nimbus Disability is a social enterprise run by and for disabled people, and a recognised leader in accessible ticketing across the UK.
Registration is free, quick to complete, and valid for three years. Once registered, your access requirements will be securely linked to your Buxton Opera House account, helping our Box Office team recommend the most suitable seating without needing additional documentation each time you book.
Most excitingly, you can now book wheelchair spaces and Essential Companion tickets online, where previously, these bookings could only be made by phone or in person.
Once you're registered and your Nimbus Card is linked to your Buxton Opera House account, these seats and discounts will be automatically available to you whenever you book online. Simply log in, choose your tickets, and complete your booking at a time that suits you.
From Tue 7 Jul 2026, customers wishing make use of access discounts (including companion tickets) will need to register through the Access Card scheme. Existing bookings will not be affected.
If you already have an Access Card with Nimbus or have previously signed up for the free Access Registration scheme, please check if this has been linked to your Buxton Opera House account (see below more more details). If it has, there is nothing further you need to do.
When you book online, the seats you require based on your Access requirements, will appear on the seat plan. For example, the below screenshot shows our Wheelchair spaces and their Essential Companion seats available to book where the Wheelchair and STAR symbols are.

How to Register
There are two simple options:
Option 1: Free Access Registration
You can apply for a free access registration, valid for three years.
- Recognised at Buxton Opera House & Pavilion Arts Centre
- Allows us to understand your access needs and support your visit
Complete your free registration
Option 2: Full Access Card
You can choose to upgrade to a full Access Card for £15, valid for three years.
In addition to the benefits above, the full Access Card offers:
- Recognition at venues across the UK and beyond
- Eligibility for companion tickets at many participating venues
- A photo ID card with accessibility symbols
- Access to an online directory of accessible venues
- Membership of a closed Facebook community
Apply for a full Access Card
When you register, Nimbus Disability will handle all your information securely and safely without us ever having cause to see the detail behind why you need accessible seating options.
The quickest and easiest way to apply is via the website, but Nimbus do have the ability to undertake a phone application for those that require it. You will need to call 0330 808 5108 to book a date and time for a phone application.
How to Link Your Account
Once your application is approved, Nimbus will send you a unique Access Pass number by email.
You can link this to your Buxton Opera House account here or by clicking the button below.
- If you don’t already have an account, one will be created for you automatically (you can set your password using “Forgotten My Password”)
- If you already have an account, simply log in as usual
Once linked, your access requirements will be automatically shared with our system, making future bookings quicker and easier.
