Senior Media & Communications Officer

Salary: Up to £28,500 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract: Full time, permanent (37.5 hours per week)

As part of the Marketing & Communications team, the Senior Media & Communications Officer will create and develop communications campaigns that effectively sell and raise the profile of Buxton Opera House’s full artistic and engagement programmes. The postholder is expected to work closely with other departments to effectively deliver occupancy and sales targets and enhance the venue’s reach, engagement, and profile through creative campaigns, partnerships, content, stunts, or other events. Working closely with the Marketing Campaigns Manager, the postholder will be expected to align targeted local and regional Communications, PR coverage and events with marketing campaign activity.

The postholder will be responsible for securing media coverage and interview opportunities, including but not exclusive to radio, TV, print and digital. The role will involve work with traditional media publications and platforms and will also lead on building the venues network of influencers within the local area.

Deputy Ticketing & Sales Manager

Salary: £26,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract: Full time, permanent (37.5 hours per week)

As part of a wider communication team, the Deputy Ticketing & Sales Manager will support the Ticketing & Sales Manager in the day to day running of the Box Office and helping to deliver ticketing strategies that drive income, audience development and wider sales initiatives, including the Membership scheme and secondary spend. They will oversee the Ticketing & Sales Assistants, ensuring the team deliver the highest standard of customer service, whilst also driving revenue and customer loyalty and maintaining a clean and up to date database in line with GDPR.

With key working relationships spanning across the theatre, it is essential that the postholder has demonstrable experience of working in a Box Office or Ticketing environment and has a proven track record of working with a ticketing system such as Spektrix. The postholder must also have experience managing, training and motivating staff in an operational sales setting, with wealth of experience of dealing with members of the public in a customer focused role.
