Concessions and Discounts

We offer concessions on a number of events throughout the season and these are highlighted in the brochure and on the event listings on the website. Proof of eligibility may be required. Only one discount can be used per ticket.

Senior: 
We class anyone aged 60 and over as a Senior concession. 

Children: 
We class anyone aged 15 and under as a child. For more useful information about coming to the theatre with your family, please click here.

Students: 
We class anyone in full-time education, or a part-time student with an NUS card as a student. Please be aware you will need to bring a valid student ID when booking a student ticket. Standby tickets are sometimes available to students age 16+. The tickets are usually priced at £10 and are available one hour before the performance, subject to availability. 

Group Discounts: 
We class groups of eight or more people as a group. For more information about visiting as part of a group please click here.

Other Concessions:
Where available, we currently offer concessions for customers in receipt of the following benefits:

  • Income Support
  • Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Employment & Support Allowance
  • Personal Independence Payment
  • Disability Living Allowance
  • Attendance Allowance
  • Constant Attendance Allowance
  • Armed Forces Independence Payment

Standby tickets are sometimes available for customers in receipt of JSA/Income Support. The tickets are usually priced at £10 and are available one hour before the performance, subject to availability.

Disabled Customers:
We offer discounts on a number of events throughout the season and these are highlighted in the brochure and on the event listings on the website. Proof of eligibility:

  • Disabled Persons bus pass 
  • Disabled Persons railcard 
  • Award letter 
  • Access Card 

Essential Companions:
If there are discounts available on a performance we can offer a free companion ticket to anyone in receipt of Carer’s Allowance or anyone accompanying an Access Card holder with the +1 symbol. Other essential companions and Derbyshire County Council Carers Emergency Card holders can still receive a 50% discount on full price tickets as long as there are discounts available on a performance. These companion tickets are only available if you are accompanying the person you are caring for and are subject to availability.

Matcham:
If you visit the theatre regularly, joining our Matcham Membership scheme will make sure you get the best seats at the best price. Benefits include:

  • Half price tickets to some ‘first night’ performances
  • Discounts on many shows
  • Priority booking for some events
  • Email notification about new shows
  • Reservations held until one week before a performance, or two weeks for very busy or sold out performances
