Platform 3's Contemporary Youth Dance Company is a performance-based group for dancers aged 12-17. Unlike a weekly dance class, we meet on specific dates throughout the year to create and rehearse performances for key events in the Platform 3 programme.

Each project starts with an intensive day of devising, where participants will work alongside our resident choreographer to create a piece of dance ready for performance. This will be followed by several after school rehearsals before the event.

Sessions will start with a contemporary technique class aimed to build strength, stamina and performance skills, followed by creative tasks to develop an understanding of choreography.

Our next project is Making Space at Buxon Opera House on Monday 20 March 2023.

To take part in this project, you must be available for all rehearsals on the following dates:

Devising day: Saturday 10 February 10am – 4pm
Rehearsals: Tuesday 13 February 5pm – 7pm & Tuesday 27 February 5pm – 7pm
Technical rehearsal: Tuesday 12 March 5pm – 7pm (Buxton Opera House)

Performances: Monday 18 March 7pm & Tuesday 19 March 7.30pm
