Northern Skies was inspired by Kathryn Stott’s frequent travels to Scandinavia where she experienced the elegance of Grieg and Sinding, and the energy of Sæverud’s music. Lancashire born Kathryn Stott studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School and the Royal College of Music and shot to fame when she was a prize-winner at the Leeds International Piano Competition 1978. She has given performances as a concerto soloist, chamber musician and recitalist throughout the world and has had many works written for her.
