Contemporary Youth Dance Company

For school years 8-13

Our dance company is a performance group for young dancers in the local area. It offers the chance to develop skills and be involved in exciting events.

We don’t meet every week like a regular dance class. Instead, we come together on selected dates throughout the year to practice and prepare for key events in the BOH Creates programme.

Each project starts with a modern dance class to help you get stronger, feel more energetic, and perform with confidence. You’ll also have the chance to make a dance routine with a professional choreographer and practise it through rehearsals.

Our upcoming project is Making Space Dance Festival 2026, which this year will follow the theme of Dreams and Fantasy. Devising days will begin in February, with rehearsals and performances to take place in March. More information to follow!

Sessions are led by Kerry Allsop, Creative Learning Director at Buxton Opera House.
