Buxton International Festival: How to book tickets online

18 March 2024

We’re expecting a high level of bookings this month so we recommend using our online booking system to reserve your seats. We’ve shared a step-by-step guide which shows you how to book tickets online for the Buxton International Festival (BIF) below:

How the online booking process works:

1. Start from our Home page

From here, highlight the What's On section and select 'Buxton International Festival' from the drop-down menu. This will take you to a full listing of BIF events, or alternatively you can click on the magnifying glass and search for the event you would like to book. Please note that events with multiple showings, like our operas and opera talks, will display all times and days available.

2. Select your chosen show

To book your chosen show, click 'MORE INFO' which will take you to the show's page where you can buy tickets.

Select 'BUY TICKETS' for the show date you would like to attend (events with multiple showings will display the full listings beside).

3. Enter your priority booking code

Enter the priority booking code that was sent to you with your brochure and also via email, then press ‘Apply code’.

4. Choose your seating area

If you are booking a seat in Buxton Opera House you will be taken through to the next booking page where you can choose the area in which you would like to sit.

5. Select your seats

You will now be taken through to the next booking page where you can choose how many tickets and the seats you would like. Press ‘Continue’ after making your selections where you will be asked to confirm your basket.

6. Confirm your seats

At this point you can either change your seats or press ‘confirm’ to continue with your booking.

7. Ticket Insurance

The Box Office will then ask whether you would like to add insurance to your booking.  You can either add it to your basket or press ‘Continue to Basket’ to continue with your booking.

8. View your basket

You will now see all the tickets in your basket.  At this point you can either press the grey ‘Continue browsing’ button on the left to book more tickets, or press the red ‘checkout’ button to buy your tickets and complete your purchase.

9. Book more tickets

Having clicked on the ‘Continue browsing’ button, you will be taken to the Buxton Opera House ‘What’s on’ page. Repeat the process from stage 1 and find your next event on our What’s On page.

10. Checkout your completed basket

To complete your booking and pay for your tickets you will be asked to login or register to create an account if you are a new online customer.

We hope that this helps you in your online booking process. You are also able to troubleshoot or book by phone to the Box Office on 01298 72190.
