Creating opportunities for all

At Buxton Opera House, we want to give everybody the opportunity to experience truly magical theatre and to be able to access cultural experiences and training opportunities. As Derbyshire's only largescale cultural venue for the performing arts, we’re proud to serve the communities of Buxton, the High Peak, Derbyshire and beyond. We reach schools and communities in remote villages and areas, where many residents face economic deprivation and few opportunities to engage in cultural opportunities.

Our aim is to be a vibrant hub for access, education and community engagement, delivering projects which build social cohesion and offer tangible volunteering, training and job creation opportunities.

Please help us to continue to offer a welcoming space that engages and inspires participants  ensures access for all and makes a real difference to people’s lives.

“ This is a perfect space for my daughter to shine and it helps her mental health massively ”
