Theatre Bars

The Opera House has a number of bars serving a wide range of drinks and snacks pre-show and during intervals. The Dress Circle Bar opens 45 minutes before a performance so you can relax and enjoy a drink in the sumptuous surroundings of Frank Matcham’s exquisite theatre.

Quality tea and coffee can also be bought from all our bars and we pride ourselves in only serving hot drinks that are certified fair trade. If you’re looking for something a little colder, delicious ice creams can be bought from all levels of the theatre during the intervals.

We accept card and cash payments in all the bars.

We care about the environment - all plastic glasses, cups and lids are compostable or biodegradable.

Should you wish to make your time with us that bit more special, The Devonshire Lounge is now open. For just £15 per person you will have exclusive access to the lounge one hour before the performance and during the interval, as well as a welcome drink, cloakroom facilities and the opportunity to pre-order interval drinks. The lounge can also be hired for groups and special events - for more information call our Box Office on 01298 72190.

Picnic and Prosecco Boxes

Buxton Opera House has teamed up with No. 6 Tearooms, to provide homemade afternoon tea boxes to be enjoyed pre-performance, or during the interval. Our boxes are the perfect addition to your festival celebrations!

Boxes are available either individually, or as a pair. Prices are £25 for one box (including one drink) or £40 for two boxes (including two drinks), available on selected performances throughout Buxton International Festival and The International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival.

Add this to your booking here (vegetarian option available here).
